Dear Friends:

The purpose of this letter is to get you excited about our upcoming Third Annual Blindskills, Inc., Eyebowl. This charity bowl-a-thon on February 25th, 2012, from 1 pm to 5 pm at Town and Country Lanes in Keizer, will support Blindskills, Inc., and its mission of serving visually impaired people and their families.

Blindskills is a nonprofit organization linking visually impaired people to professional resources and other support systems in their community. We provide consultation regarding all phases of Braille education, product availability, and special technology. Blindskills provides an audiocassette entitled WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? to newly blind people, their families and friends. This assists in the transition from full sight to limited sight. The toll-free number (1-800-860-4224) is available to anyone in need of individual consultation and support. Blindskills sponsors a local support group for people who are losing their sight. The group discusses the skills, feelings, attitudes, joys, and problems inherent in living without sight. We also publish DIALOGUE, a quarterly magazine for blind, newly-blind and visually impaired readers. It is published in Braille, large print, 4-track audiocassette and email formats. Subscribers of all ages read DIALOGUE to enhance coping skills, to learn about blindness-related resources, and to share experiences of daily living with blindness.

As a nonprofit organization, Blindskills relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to continue helping visually impaired people. This year's Eyebowl is a great opportunity to have fun and give to an excellent cause. We hope to get as many teams bowling as possible. To form a team, you need a team captain and 4 additional players, 5 total per team. Form as many teams per organization as you would like, the more the merrier. There is no fee for bowling or for the shoe rental, however each team member is responsible to find pledges from family, friends or business; there is a minimum of $10 total pledges per player to bowl one game. Each pledge must be flat rate, we will not be doing per pin pledges, as the money must be collected prior to bowling and turned in the day of the event.

Pledge sheets can be picked up at Blindskills, 680 State Street, Suite 110, in Salem, phone 503-581-4224, download the PDF brochure with pledge sheet, email info@blindskills.com or keirstene@pacificu.edu. This second email address will put you in touch with Keirsten Eagles, the president of our board and the driving force behind this marvelous event.

Prizes will be given for:

If you are unable to bowl, there are still wonderful ways to contribute. Advertisement space is available to promote your business during the event.

We deeply appreciate all donations--cash, Visa or MasterCard, gift certificates or gifts to use as prizes during the event. If you are interested in sponsoring our event please contact the blindskills office or Keirsten Eagles at 503-881-5486 or keirstene@pacificu.edu.

We thank you for your time and consideration, and hope to see you at Town and Country Lanes on February 25.
